After ArtSKey starting in the right-bottom corner of HPC screen the symbol "En" will appear. It means that program is started and the current keyboard layout is English.
For switching to the alternative keyboard layout, press and release Ctrl and Shift simultaneously, in the right-bottom corner of HPC screen the symbol "Alt" will appear (or your national language symbol).
For entering the symbols being absent on the keyboard, press and hold Ctrl + Shift and enter numerals a code of a symbol, then release Ctrl-Shift.
For example: To enter the "Copyright" symbol with the code 169:
Symbol will appear on the screen (in case of Windows CE v2.0 you should enter UNICODE of the symbol).
Note that there is no need to enter thereby symbols of your alphabet, necessary keyboard layout easy to define in the artskey.ini file.
For entering the "date stamp":
Date stamp will appear on the screen. You can also use the 1, 3 and 4 keys for date stamp.
For entering "time stamp":
Time stamp will appear on the screen. You can also use the 5, 7 and 8 keys for time stamp.
You can define your favorite date and time stamp format in artskey.ini file.
Other ArtSKey's features are depends on a Windows CE version.
2. ArtSKey for MS Windows CE V1.0
If this not forbidden in artskey.ini file, all your incoming E-mail messages received in HPC and stored in the local postal database (mail message store), will be decoded from Quoted-Printable or Base64 7-bits code to 8-bits code automatically.

Switch off the automatic synchronization in HPC Explorer (Tools - Synchronization Manager - Automatically Synchronize Upon Connecting).

Backup/Restore procedures
If the ArtSKey is Activated and started you should choose the Backup/Restore item in ArtSKey's menu right before Backup/Restore operation.
If ArtSKey was not activated, this menu item is absent.
If you have not choused this item in ArtSKey's menu before Backup operation, then probably you may have some troubles during Restore operation.
If so, please read "Troubleshooting" section.
If restore operation is proceeding on a clear HPC (your data was lost on battery weak reason for example) or you are making the ArtSKey uninstallation:
run ArtSKey after Windows CE ask you to reboot your HPC instead the rebooting.
Then reboot the HPC only after message "Please restart your HPC with 'Reset' button" appearance.
If ArtSKey was activated then after Backup/Restore operations you may see a warning regarding impossible to backup/restore wince.nls file. Please don not worry about it.
