Notes for Installation and Usage

Installation notes
Note, that The ArtSKey does not install any Arabic fonts. After ArtSKey is installed, only if you have legal permissions, copy Arabic fonts (Tahoma, Tahoma Bold and Courier at least and Traditional Arabic font optional for future use) from your PC "Windows\Fonts" folder to "Windows" folder on your device.
Note, folder on Pocket PC should be "Windows", not "Windows\Fonts".
Please necessarily reboot Pocket PC for changes will take effect and run ArtSKey again.

Typing text
To have "Right-to-Left" typing capability you should select BiDi item in the ArtSKey menu.
Go Today screen; Tap ArtSKey icon on the taskbar; Check BiDi item.

Transferring files
Check settings for transferring rules of the Active Sync on your PC:

Desktop to Device conversion rules for Word documents:

Microsoft Word Document should be converted to Pocket Word Document-Pocket PC (*.psw);

Device to Desktop conversion rules for Pocket Word and Note Taker documents:

Pocket Word Documents should be converted to Word 97/2000 (*.doc).
InkWriter/Note Taker/Notes Documents should be converted to Word 97/2000 (*.doc).

After receiving MS Word file from PC to Mobile Device, all Arabic file content is reversed.
To correct it:

select all text;
in ArtSKey keyboard tap "Rocket" button;
tap "Reverse" button.

Before transferring text from Mobile Device to PC, please also reverse it as described above.
Before first using document that was transferred onto PC, you need to prepare it by doc_bidi.exe program you can find in ArtSKey kit.
Before edit this file you should save it as Word document (*.doc).

Sending and receiving e-mail
After e-mail received all Arabic text will be look like "reversed". Please reverse it as described above.
Before sending also do the "reverse" procedure.

Synchronization Outlook data
Turn off automatic synchronization in the Microsoft ActiveSync.
Before synchronizing select Synchronization item in ArtSKey menu.

Version restrictions
ArtSKey build: #4070 (BETA 3)

You can enter ligatures in Pocket Word and Note Taker applications. But when files with ligatures are transferring on desktop PC, ligatures will be lost.
Also ligatures will be represented as detached symbols in documents, were created on desktop PC and then transferred on the mobile device.
Diacritics are not supported.
